Dow's 250-point drop led by losses for Boeing, American Express shares

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is declining Thursday afternoon with shares of Boeing and American Express seeing the biggest losses for the price-weighted average. Shares of Boeing BA, -4.83% and American Express AXP, -3.84% have contributed to the index’s intraday decline, as the Dow DJIA, -0.33% was most recently trading 259 points (0.8%) lower. Boeing’s shares are down $7.43 (5.7%) while those of American Express are down $7.32 (4.6%), combining for a roughly 97-point drag on the Dow. Other components contributing significantly to the decline include Apple Inc. AAPL, -2.69%, Microsoft MSFT, -2.00%, and UnitedHealth UNH, -1.51%. A $1 move in any of the Dow’s 30 components equates to a 6.59-point swing.
